Can't move PMS data storage to external drive

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711
Player Version#: 8.10.0.21911

Server and player are on an Nvidia Shield Pro with an external USB SSD drive plugged in. Drive shows up in Android settings but not in storage move within Plex. Any assistance would be greatly welcome!
Tried clearing cache, restarting, reformatting the USB drive etc
