Can't open Plex desktop player

I got a message upon opening the new version of PMP that the desktop mode, which I use every day and have paid for will no longer be supported from the next version. I previously tried the desktop player and didn’t like it so I uninstalled the program and went back to PMP.

Now I have installed the latest version of the desktop app and it doesn’t even open, attached image is what I see. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same problem.

Any ideas?!

Update: if I maximise the blank window, that allows me to see my PLEX library but can’t open any files and the second weird looking window is still there.

Are you sure you installed Plex Media Player?

Not Plex media player. PMP is what I’ve been using the last few years. Trying to move to the new Plex desktop application, but that what’s not opening.

Do you have mpv installed?

I don’t think so! I’m not sure what that is though

Uninstall it again.
Uninstall any “Codec Packs” you might have,
then Download and install https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases
Then install the Plex player again.
