Can't open plex media server on Synology NAS DS220+

I have PMS installed on a Synology NAS that contains all my media. I also have it installed on a Windows 10 pc. When I open PMS from Package Center it takes me to the web ap here: http://192.168.0.20:32400/web/index.html

I can open PMS on my pc but can’t access the NAS drive. I tried opening the web interface address above in an incognito window and it would let me. I’ve reinstalled PMS on both machines multiple times. If I could open PMS on the NAS (not the web app), I suspect I’d be able to add my media to the library.

My logs are attached. Logs.zip (2.1 MB)

Forgot to note that the NAS and my laptop are on the same LAN connected through the router with ethernet cables. No VPN running.

Thanks for the logs.

They do confirm PMS is running and loading from the Syno.

I suspect your other server, because of how Plex/web works, is blocking you.

  1. Sign out of Plex/Web
  2. Now open http://192.168.0.20:32400/web
  3. Sign it in again and it will jump into the setup wizard

Logged out on the PC and on the NAS. Logged back in through Chrome per instructions. I see my PC but not the NAS. No server settings available.

I forgot to mention that I have had Plex accounts. The original post was in the other account. I used that one on an old laptop that used to run plex. That one fried its hard drive (overheated I think). I’ve set up a new plex account for the NAS. I tried your suggestion in the new one once everything was signed out. The old account has been deleted.

I tried stopping the Plex app from within the Package Center on the NAS. Now when I try to access the web address you gave me it can’t be reached.

Okay now the NAS is showing up in Plex when running it from the server. It says it’s unclaimed and the Claim Server button just spins for a few minutes then reverts. It also says I have an update available.

Here are my current logs.Logs (1).zip (779.1 KB)

Looks like that worked. It’s scanning the library now. Thanks for all your help! What a relief.
