Can't play music from Plex server on my Sonos speaker via the Plex service

Can someone assist me with my problem? I like to play my music from the Plex server via the Sonos service on my Sonos speaker. I can see all albums in my Sonos app but it doesn’t play. It just skip the tracks. I can’t find any errors in my Plex server log…

Edit: I have the problem with Flac and MP3 files.

I’ve had more luck using the Plexamp application running on an iOS device and casting to the network attached speaker. The actual Sonos app isn’t very good imho and my Sonos estate is split between S1 and S2 products.

Just easier to use a third party at this stage for me, which is a shame as I liked the Sonos ‘Radio’ channels they had…

I contacted Sonos support. We tried to debug for an hour but it is still not solved. I also checked the console on Plex server but I’m not sure if anything is wrong.. Can somebody with more knowledge check? I’ve made a screenshot hope it helps…

In PMS Settings - Library - do you have analyze audio tracks for loudness enabled?

If memory serves correctly I think that tracks that hadn’t been analyzed would not play on Sonos

Yeah that feature is enabled. Correct I experienced that also a year 1-2 ago and indeed after analyzing it was working. For some time I didn’t have Sonos devices. I bought 2 era 100’s a month ago but for some reason playing music via the Sonos service isn’t working for me anymore. Not sure why. I really like to solve this because I really like using the Sonos this way.

Could you try to reanalyze the music library?

Also do you have remote access enabled in Plex? (even though they are on the same network Sonos requires remote access)

Okay, re-analyzing at the moment.

Yes remote access is enabled and is “fully accessible outside your network”.

Might be worth trying to re-authorize the plex account through the sonos app too

I did re-authorize a few times but tried again. Also re-analyzed the library. Still not working. The Sonos app just skip the numbers when I tick the play button and stops. I tried on both Era 100’s. Really strange…

Did you get this sorted please? This is exactly what is happening to me!! Driving me up the wall. Tried changing settings on router, plex - you name it. Cannot work it out for love nor money!!! @plexpass
