Simple really: my iOS Plex client can play to my Chromecast Audio, but Plexamp on my Mac can’t. Known random limitation, or bug?

It’s pretty much a Google restriction, AFAIK they only allow CC support inside Chrome? I seem to recall someone hacked it into Electron, but it didn’t look official or supported.
Ah so the iOS app has a chromecast module built in? Well that’s annoying. Is there anything similar to the chromecast that doesn’t have this sort of restriction?
