Player Version#: Android 7.18.1.11300 (f2dba368)
Hi, I’ve finally taken the plunge and installed Plex, and it’s as good as everyone says!
I originally installed it on an old Atom eeePC, where Plex worked fine, but the PC is so ancient it was difficult to use in the actual Windows UI.
I experienced a problem on this machine where I could play videos remotely without any problem, but was unable to play them from the local network. I eventually worked out that I had both the wireless and ethernet connected - using only the wireless fixed the problem.
I’ve now migrated to a better-suited machine, and have struck the same problem. I can play back fine externally, e.g. via 4G on my Android phone, but the same file won’t play back when the phone is connected to the local wireless network.
The new server has only ethernet, no wireless. The problem is with ANY device on the local wifi, not just Android, so a browser on another PC won’t play videos.
Metadata is all available, including data to allow me to pick up a video where I left off, but playback doesn’t work.
Windows firewall seems correctly configured. My router (which also does the wifi) doesn’t appear to have any settings related to communications between the wired and wireless networks. Wired and wireless use the same subnet.
Help??
