Can't re-use email to create a new account after changing it on the old one

Hi,

After changing the email address on my main server account, I tried to use the old email to create a new PLEX account. Unfortunately it still says that the old email is already in use. I want to create a separate user account for myself, so I can filter out the kids movies. When using the server’s account on other devices, there’s no option to do so, and just see everything thats on there. Can’t set restrictions for the main server account apparently.

How long would it take for my old email to become available again? Could PLEX manually delete it so it won’t be registered anymore? I guess its still reserved for safety reasons so I could still recover it in case it wasn’t me who changed the email or something.

I’d say wait at least 24 hours.
In the worst case, you’ll have to wait 30 days.

Tip: use your web browser’s ‘Incognito’/‘Privacy’ mode to create/manage the new account.
Avoid mingling the two accounts at all costs!

Just got word: the time is 48 hours after changing the email, before you can re-use the old email.

I tried about one hour after, and its all set up already :slightly_smiling_face: Guess the lesson here is that I should have given it more time haha. Thanks again :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
