Can't Remove Old Server

Server Version#: 1.41.5.9522
Player Version#: 10.26.0.2578

For several years now, I have had an old/dead plex server that still appears on my account. I have followed all of the conventional advice, removing the server from my authorized devices, checking settings in “Manage Library Access,” looking for it as a server in my account’s admin settings and removing it from there, etc, but it’s still there as a server option when selecting “More” in the Plex Player app (regardless of device/platform).

For clarity, this is NOT a server shared with me by a friend - it is a server that I used to own on my account, but it died several years ago, and I had to replace it. Again, I removed it from my authorized devices a LONG time ago, and I double-check every time this issue starts to annoy me again. Again, it does NOT show up in my account’s admin settings as a server that I can manage. It ONLY appears as an option from which to view media when choosing “More” from the sidebar in Plex Player (but of course, it has the warning that says it is inaccessible).

I’ve found a handful of posts on Reddit with people that say they’ve had the same issue, and they say the only way to get it removed is to post on the Plex forums and have an employee take care of it. Something about an issue in Plex’s native servers that hold people’s account info.

To the Plex employee that sees this post: Please help me remove my old server from my account :folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands:

@Rupert-Family

When you open Plex/web,

  • go to Settings →
  • Authorized Devices (upper left corner of browser window)
  • Change the dropdown from ALL → Server

If you see the old server there, you can now REMOVE it.

Let me know if this resolves it or if there are still stuck ones.

Sir. I stated TWICE in my post that it does NOT appear in my list of authorized devices.

After receiving your messaged I checked, once again (for like the 100th time), just to be sure, and unsurprisingly, it is still not there.

Forgive me if I sound frustrated, but I explicitly stated that I’ve tried all of the conventional advice, the very first of which is checking my authorized devices, and yet, somehow, the first response I get is the conventional advice telling me to check my authorized devices?

I’m sorry, it’s been a busy day and I missed that.

Which server(s) would you like removed ?

  1. r****_m*** ?
  2. n***** ?
  3. n***-m*** ?

I also need help removing a server in the same way as the guy above. It’s not in my auth. devices list. It start with the letter A. TIA.

@SaptarshiRGhosh

I sent you a PM. (green dot , upper right)

@ChuckPa - I am having the exact same problem. Old server not in my authorised devices list but shows on iOS and cannot favourite my new server.

Are you able to please delete the plex server that begins with C

@mikemikenz

Check your PM.

I am also having the same issue as others noted above. I have a server named “Denflix”. Would like that removed. Are you able to assist with that removal?

@xoiek

The server you referenced was a shared server (someone shared with you).
It was abandoned 7 years ago.

Restart / Refresh your players.
It is gone

Please remove the server named “C*****FractalNorthXL” from mine please! This no longer used server is preventing me from re-connecting to my unraid server after resetting my password. @ChuckPa
Thanks

Restart your players to force their update.

I have an old local server that is greyed out. Could you please remove t**l7 from my account.

@td_l7

There is nothing listed at Plex.tv

The only server you have is a Windows machine T**11

If you’re seeing it in the players,

  1. Make certain it’s UNPINed
  2. Restart the player (hard restart) to fetch fresh list of servers from plex.tv

Hi ChuckPa,
I also have had this issue for years. Previously searched for a solution, and failed, but as time passed, some dead servers have shown up again, and I removed them. I do have one sitting around that I cannot get rid of. I would appreciate this going away. But I wonder why there is no way to fix this in any menu?

My server to remove is D—39–K
Thanks in advance (and excitement to potential resolution of an old problem)

You had four other (since the time of the Pharaohs) in there too.
I cleaned them all out.

How does that look?

I have one that needs removing also if you can do that.

chuc…………ley

That’s a negative GhostRider.

DS918 (current one)
“DiskStation” (from years ago – which I zapped)
