Old server ghost

FeeNAS 9.10
Plex Server Version 0.9.17.2

Can’t find a way to remove old server Nucshuco. Not showing under devices. I removed SLCASA and then logged back in, but still showing up.
Is there another way to remove old servers?
I have also restarted the server and remotely logged in with different browsers with same results.

My Plex server is working great with family connecting from all over the country with different devices.

Try signing out and in Plex Web (top right corner sign in)

you may need to remove the Players from the devices list ( force them to login freshly.)

I had this happen to me with my player at the beach house (my server is at home so remote connection).

For some reason the remote player(client) kept the ghost server alive . I had to remove the player from the list then the server went away .

due to the remote site had Cached Connection Information ( must have left it running) .

yes I had the similar issue with 1 server listed but my players were showing an old server , when i removed the remote player that had cached information it was fine.

its not in the device list. that is the problem im having. if you look at the pics there is only one server in there.

Did you log out and log back in as sa2000 suggested?

yes i did log out and back in.

removed all the players in the device area and logged out. Still showing old server. :frowning:

Have you tried using the plex.tv web app to remove devices? Maybe it’s still showing up via the online web app.

https://app.plex.tv/web/app#!/settings/devices

yes connected using plex.tv web app and locally with same results. also tried using cell phone on 4g same problem with web app.

Where ? there are two places. One within server settings and the other within the browser for plex web (top right drop down). Could also try to clear browser cache

Does the server appear within the xml you get from https://plex.tv/pms/resources.xml?includeHttps=1 ?

Yes it does

<Device name="Nucshuco" product="Plex Media Server" productVersion="0.9.11.1.678-c48ffd2" platform="FreeBSD" platformVersion="(FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE-p12 #0 r262572+b043649: Sun Sep 28 23:03:31 PDT 2014 root@build3.ixsystems.com:/tank/home/jkh/build/921/freenas/os-base/amd64/fusion/jkh/921/freenas/FreeBSD/src/sys/FREENAS.amd64)" device="" clientIdentifier="e957b3082f1cb851a3c2cdecb41683c1597fc2fc" createdAt="1411429368" lastSeenAt="1466263325" provides="server" owned="1" publicAddressMatches="1" presence="0">
<Connection protocol="http" address="192.168.1.6" port="32400" uri="http://192.168.1.6:32400" local="1"/>

It is most likely the Plex for Windows 10 beta app’s mobile server.

May be there is another server with the same ProcessedMachineIdentifier in the Preferences.xml as this one

Could you check the Preferences.xml of your other server
May be you cloned the Preferences.xml ?

The identifier for this ghost server is "e957b3082f1cb851a3c2cdecb41683c1597fc2fc"
It was created 22nd September 2014

You can edit your token and the email address replacing with xxx’s

When you looked at the resources.xml earlier, were there two server entries ? could you post the other server device entry xml and what device had an ip address of 192.168.1.6 on afternoon of 18th June ?

Here is my Preferences.xml

Thanks. The machine identifier is different from that for the ghost one. Could you send me by PM the whole xml from https://plex.tv/pms/resources.xml?includeHttps=1

When you signed in to plex web and clicked on Devices tab in Settings, was that signed in to the same master account you use for the servers? I notice you have Plex Home active - so just want to make sure that you were using the master admin account and not one of the managed users

@sa2000
ok sent it to you

Thank you. I am discussing this with the plex devs

This has now been registered as an issue and will be addressed.
The server was not used for a very long time.

Do you remember the sequence ? Was the device brought online after long period and new server SLSCasa installed on it on the 18th June?
