Can't reproduce Movie from remote access

Hi everybody and thank you for your time.
I have some issue to activate remote access of Plex Server , it is installed in QNAP TS-228 Nas with QTS 4.3.6.1446 .

  1. Serve remote access
    I activate remote access on Plex , but It doesn work. In my modem router () I configured virtual server to external access to lan service (like www,ftp, etc etc) , I port forwarded the 32400 port and activate UPnP service. It seems works now but If I reboot Plex Server it still remain not connected. I need to apply the pubblic port to restart to work. I monitored for a few minutes this connection but sometimes the remote access fall down.

  2. Client remote access
    Plex server is available for remote access. With Plex app on my android phone, using lte connection (so I’m not on my wifi), I navigate through the server and I can see my collections. If i try to reproduce a movie , the app says that is impossible to reproduce. Music collections works instead . Are there any problem with the movie transcoding?It was deactivate. I try now to activate it and the Android app inform me that the server can’t transcoding and the movie will be reproduced in original quality…but I’m still waiting (there aren’t any errors now) .

Server

This is kind of redundant and potentially conflicting. Personally I prefer having a manual port forward. In that case make sure your PMS has a static IP address within your home network and to also configure the Plex Media Server’s remote access settings to use the public port you specified as part of the port-forward.

If this is still giving you issues… double-check if you can see the defined public port from outside your home network (e.g. using a service such as canyouseeme.org).

Client

Can you double-check your client settings? If you have disabled transcoding on the server and the client is set to use a specific (lower) quality for remote streaming, this will cause a conflict (preventing Plex from playing a video).

TL;DR:

  • What’s your remote streaming video quality setting on the client?
  • Is the QNAP strong enough to handle transcoding that particular video?
    According to Plex` NAS Compatibility List the TS-228 can only transcode videos to 720p (with a limited capability to deal with some 1080p videos)

Server
I apply an IP static to PMS in my home network. I apply a Virtual Server rule in my modem/router (Huawei B525 4G LTE ) to release the port 32400 (simple portforwarding doesn’t working) . The last one is to activate the UPnP service. With these options the server is more stable. When it lose connection , it still reachable and it works in remote connection.

Client
I activate the transcoding video in server and in the client all the option for the reproduction are at maximum level, now I can see the movie!
