Plex Transcoding and Remote access issues

Server Version#:1.32.4
Hardware Tree Telus modem (Edmonton, AB) - UDM Pro - 24 Poe port - US 16 xg ( All ubiquiti Stuff )

I seem to be limited to 2000kps on some videos over the internet. Yet everything is Set on maxed and have hardware transcoding.

Second issue is Remote access keeps turning off after refreshing it and it showing on.

Spent the Last month trying different things and can not seem to get this to work right. The people that use my server is always stuck to lower resolution because of the bit-rate issue.

Friend watches off his Sony TV running android and uses Shaw Internet. ( same location )

Anyone else able to get these fixed?

It appears your remote access setup is borked, causing your clients to use an indirect connection. Those are limited to 1 Mbps (2 Mbps for Plex Pass members).

The remote access status indicator will always briefly show as „green“ for a moment while Plex is checking the connection status. So seeing it briefly as „connected“ doesn’t mean it’s actually working.

Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

There’s also a guide with some more details

Yes I did. did everything and still nothing

To what outcome?
The troubleshooting goes beyond „on/off“ but you should get some more details… e.g. is there a double-NAT, do you get a publicly routable IPv4 address from your ISP, is your router’s manual port forward accessible from outside your home network…?

I tried checking for double nat and shows i do not have it. (from what i can tell) Its manually port forward on my udm pro. the modem from my isp is set to bridge mode. what you mean publicly routable ipv4 address?

Can you post the first 3 segments of the public ip address of your router (WAN IP). Does that ip address match the one you see inside the Plex remote access settings and the one showing if you connect from a service like canyouseeme.org?

IP address is Exactly the Same for all digits (199) Shows the same on my udm pro main page too.

Are that WAN IP and your specified public remote access port accessible if you check using canyouseeme.org?

PS: in case you wonder, we’re just going through the steps listed in the troubleshooting guide linked in my first response

No I can not see through. If I am doing it correct. ISP Ip with Plex port.

Error: I could not see your service on 91 on port (32500)
Reason: Connection timed out

This means there’s either an issue with the manual port forward or your ISP might be blocking connections to this particular port.

Isn’t the default plex port 32400?

That’s the internal port used by the server itself. You can assign other ports when creating a manual port forward.

I didn’t see the OP say they setup a different port than the default, is what I mean.

sorry meant my port is 32500

have the ports opened on my udm-pro
