Hm. See attached. That’s Plexamp on my iPad. I have full control OF Plexamp from it…

Exactly, because you chose plexamp as the player!
If you select a player directly on plexamp then the media will play on that player instead.
Oh, from the Player menu? That’s the thing that just won’t work for me…
Thanks for your patience!
I must admit it’s frustrating me a bit that you are still confused on what a player is.
Player is the app who plays. You want to play music in plexamp? Then that’s the player. The player menu in plexamp is to control ANOTHER player, not to be controlled by another.
Sorry about that!
Ok, so on my iMac in the web based Plex, in Safari - I can start playing music. The Player in this case is “Safari” in the Plexamp menu. If I want to control it from Plexamp, I’d select it in the Player menu in Plexamp. That doesn’t work, but it’s cool because I don’t want/need to do that!
Correct, that’s the way it is supposed to work (if it worked). Did you choose tge music on plexamp and it didn’t play on your Mac os web client?
Yeah, I get “Couldn’t switch to new player.” Not sure what’s stopping it.
I just verified that I could do:
(Not sure why I would want to, but I could do it
)
If you’re getting the error switching players, that almost always implies some sort of network issue which prevents Plexamp from talking to the remote player.
Hm. I have Plex running and advertising in 4 places. It DOES now work on my Apple TV, but everywhere else, I get an error.
On my iMac, where I am running Plex Media Server and Plexamp on the same box - it doesn’t work, and I don’t think it’s a networking issue in that case!
Oh well. It’s not critical.
