Am running PMS v1.13.3.5223, and Plexamp v1.0.5. Both are running on the same iMac (v10.13.6 if that matters).
I can’t get remote access to work. I see the Plex instance running in Safari (tried Chrome too) in the Player menu in Plexamp, but whenever I try to select is, I get “Couldn’t switch to new player.”
I’ve tried removing the Plexamp device and re-adding it, and restarting PMS. Not sure what else I need to do to figure out why it won’t work. What logs are worth looking at for this issue?
Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to do - I’d like to use my iPad to control Plexamp - that’s not working yet, but I’m thinking that if I solve whatever is broken with Safari on my Mac, then perhaps it will then work on my iPad…
Both Plexamp and PMS are on the same iMac, and I can’t get it to work.
When I say “remote access” - maybe I’m using the wrong terminology… I want to control Plexamp from a device other than my iMac or the Plexamp interface… So “remote” means “using a different remote” in this case…
Ah yeah, that should work, as long as they’re on the same LAN. Sometimes wireless and wired networks end up NAT’d. What are the IPs of the Mac and iPad?
Ok, I think you are confused on what the player option in Plexamp does.
The player option in plexamp is for you to chose another player which will be controlled by plexamp, not the other way around.
Yeah, I was definitely confused. Not a lot of info on it out there… I incorrectly thought that selecting a head end through that menu would DO something.
Psyched that I can now control Plexamp from my iPad. Rock and roll.
Ok, now I’m getting cocky. Can I use my Apple TV to control Plexamp too? I have Plex on there advertising as a player, but it doesn’t show up in the Plexamp Player menu…
Ok, so the Player menu in Plexamp shows me which players I can stream to - and control Plexamp from too, right? (I seem to be able to on my iPad). So I guess Apple TV isn’t supported as a Player since it’s not on the list?
