I’m trying to share my library with a friend but he can’t get access. I tried setting up another plex user to test myself and whenever I select the shared server I get the message “No Soup for you”.
I setup my test user to have access to All libraries and set Films and TV Programmes to have no restrictions.
In the settings for my test user I can see that 7 libraries have been shared with me. In all settings for shared media it says “You haven’t shared anything yet.”
So I have 3 users I’m talking about:
me
my friend
my test user
On my Plex Server running on Synology I’m logged in as ME, I’ve shared libraries with MY FRIEND and MY TEST USER.
If I use a browser to login as MY TEST USER and try to access the libraries on Synology I get the message “No soup for you”.
Further to what I wrote earlier I have now shared a film as ME to MY TEST USER and still get the no soup message. In the MY TEST USER settings I can see this film was shared but still can’t watch it.
I’ve also used a VPN to login as ME on the Plex site and been able to use the web interface to access content on my server, so I think that rules out connection issues.
I still can’t get this to work. Looking at the console on the Plex Server running on Synology, when I try to access the server via the VPN as MY TEST USER, I see this message:
Auth: authenticating user as guest
That would explain why there’s no access to the Library, any ideas on why authentication isn’t working?
