second screen thanks you have been successfully signed in
third screen There was an error signing in

Thanks for the help.
Is there anything I should be worried about publicly disclosing?

Sent. Thank you for looking into this.

Wow that is disappointing.
So If my internet is down, I can not connect to my sever locally to administer it?

Wow, this is a serious issue. What if the internet goes down for several weeks?
Lets say the internet of offline for several weeks or months. Will I be able to view my media through any players like Ruoku’s? Will I never be able to admin my account again?

I checked my server. Everything seems to be great there as I see no errors or a problem accessing the internet.
I did do an upgrade of the package a few days ago. Could this be the issue?
How do I diagnose?
Thanks.

This was the package file I downloaded.
PlexMediaServer-1.19.2.2737-b69929dab-x86_64

Yes. I even rebooted the server and I still can not connect.

I am using my local IP of the server to access.

Sent Pm with logs.

Ok I pinged the server: OK
I can log into the server.
I see the server is syncing everything else fine so I know it is getting out.
Should I try to reinstall the update I installed the other day?

I am seeing this is the latest.
PlexMediaServer-1.19.2.2737-b69929dab-
This is different from what I downloaded a few days ago.

Sorry this is the latest on your web site.
PlexMediaServer-1.19.3.2764-ef515a800-x86_64

I installed 2764 and same problem. Verified version and checked again. I can not log in.
Went to log in again and it worked.
Logged out then back in and it worked again.
Logged out again, then back in and it did not work.
Tried to log in again and it worked like it should.
Seems to be settling down.

must have been a bad version?

I wish to add my IP to list of IPs that can connect without auth.
Where do i find that option?
BTW, again, thanks for the help.

Seems to be working as normal now.
Thank you for the help.

I have the same issue, with my remote server.
I am running two PMSs on almost identical Synology Disk Stations, with almost identical content and config.

My scondary server is currently in another country, and because of the lockdowns I can’t access it physically for a nother month or so, but I have a VPN router, so I can access the local network just fine. I lost access to the PMS (although running and claimed ownership) about a couple months ago. I tried almost all the tips and tricks (claim ownership, delete preferences, copy online token from logs etc.) that these forums offer.

The main issue seems to be now that I can’t get authenticated when trying to get to the server (local IP or remote).

I am getting the “There was an error signing in” after a successful login. Alternatively sometimes the “NO SOUP…” message.

I have full control of the router remotely. I checked all the firewall settings and nothing seems to be a reason why PLEX can’t authenticate my user and allow me to access the server remotely.
There is something funky with the new PLEX server, I suspect.

Please, HELP.

Thanks. I used to have RPI over VNC for such purposes, but that is now disconnected at my remote location.

I’ll give a go to SSH Tunneling see if I run into the known issue or how long it persists.

Can you give me some more hints on that?

Ok. I made the SSH tunnel working again, by editing the SSHD_CONFIG and manually restarting the SSH server.

Now I can utilize SSH Tunneling and can use DSM as an SSH server as a C2S SOCKS5 Proxy.

An yet. I get the “There was an error signing in” and after several attempts a “NO SOUP…” mesage.

FYI same results occur on MAC Terminal SSH Tunnel and PUTTY on Windows.

AllowAgentForwarding yes
AllowTcpForwarding yes
GatewayPorts yes
PermitTunnel yes

I didn’t really change anything else.

Now this solves the issue of tunneling, as channel 3 & 4 doesn’t reject with an error any more.
However, I still don’t have a solution to authenticating PLEX.

Any ideas?

If I may jump in please?

@mrbean9876

Are those modifications to the Synology configuration ?

Yes.
I edited /etc/ssh/sshd_config
