I wanted to give Plex a shot but I am having issues and from reading through the article " Sign in to Your Plex Account" I don’t believe I am signed into the server although it appears to be running on my computer. It says " Click the Settings button and then select Server on the right". I don’t see server anywhere. I have tried reinstalling Plex media server, I have tried repairing, of course restarting. Not sure what I could be doing wrong, any help would be appreciated.
Is is possible that you already tried Plex on this computer, some time ago?
If so, the server might still be using the Plex account you have created back then.
Use this procedure to bring it over into your current Plex account:

Thanks for the reply. I have had this PC as a Plex Server many years ago.
I am completely confused by those instructions though. I can’t find the file path they reference as I don’t have a software folder under a user folder. I do see a Flex Media Server folder within a Plex folder within Program Files (x86). Is this what I am looking for? If by chance it is I have no idea what “Once you’re editing the appropriate Registry area” means and I don’t see folders or files they mention, PlexOnlineHome, PlexOnlineMail, PlexOnlineToken, PlexOnlineUsername.
Sorry for being such an idiot when it comes to computers. If there are old Plex files causing the issue is there an easier way to just wipe everything out and start fresh?
Appreciate your help
Yes, you do. If you’re on Windows, you definitely have it.
The issue is: the users folder is hidden.
So you either have to enable display of hidden folders, or you copy & paste the path (the one that starts with a %) from the article into the address bar of the file explorer and press Enter.
I couldn’t figure either of those things out but just reset windows 10 and I am now in business. Thanks for your help.
