Can't sign into web app :Internal Server Error. Something went wrong on our end:

I been having the same issue the last few days. I have Tidal through Plex just to get it out there. I’m getting " Internal Server Error. Something went wrong on our end" when I try to log in to my plex server from another computer. I tried different browsers, tried locally via ip and via the internet address app.plex.tv. I don’t dare log out of my browser session on the plex server itself, i might not be able to log back in.

I am on Windows 11 and my server is running Windows 10.

I am still logged in on the server itself using 127.0.0.1:32400, just can’t log in from anywhere else.

Edit:
OK, just tried from my phone, browser, same issue so I’m sure it’s not a browser or OS issue.

Yeah, given it’s only just started last few days (today for me as far as I know), probably most people don’t know about it yet - I’m guessing a lot more people will chip in at some point.

Regarding losing access - for me, I can still access via the thick client (on Mac), so that saves me. And now the browser is working localip:32400/web as well.

It turns out it’s working locally because I’m not longer signed into it. And obviously when I try I can’t. Thick app is still signed in though.

Ah, that must be why I can’t I use the thick app. It won’t sign in, the same error.

I can also confirm, plex.tv is broken. Only local plex stuff is accessible

OK so based on what you’re saying it’s not working on the thick app either - it’d be good if a few more people could confirm that. I’m not going to sign out of the one thing that works lol.

Don’t sign out, I works on my phone but not my iPad. There is no logic here.

I had this issue yesterday. I could log into plex.tv but not app.plex.tv. I couldn’t use the desktop app, same error and same Tautulli error.

This went on for a few hours. I was asked to contact Plex billing and they replied with the following:

If you are able to log into plex.tv, you should be able to get to app.plex.tv automatically. Our site will reuse your account information. You can also get to app, plex.tv by clicking on the Launch button after singing into plex.tv. Are you receiving any errors when trying to access app.plex.tv?

Which is what I was doing btw.

Once I saw the email (1 hour later) I was able to login successfully. I’m not sure what fixed it. If someone did something in the backend, etc. But I’m glad it started working. I had essentially signed out of 2 computers testing with no luck.

@Zod27 is right. If you’re already signed in. Don’t sign out. It seems to be an issue with the account lookup from what a few friends on discord were saying based Tautulli logs.

Adding - I have another plex account that is a “friend” with no admin powers that was able to login successfully. So it seemed to be an issue with my account and account lookup.

I just thought of something that may or may not be causing the problem. In the beginning of December I changed my plex username. I had to verify email. Since then, I don’t believe I ever signed out of plex. I wonder if everyone on this thread has recently changed usernames and if that could be causing the issue…

I decided to sign out of plex on another computer (one I don’t use often) because I saw @marshalleq comment about it being intermittent and it seems my issue wasn’t fixed. It seems I was able to log in in the little window that it was working.

If this was true then I would have two problems. But given that 3rd party apps that connect to Plex stopped working also at the same time, I thinkI can rule that out for now.

That’s good I suppose - so for you you can log back in again.

Well, I mean - Tautulli is still trying to do an account lookup. So i’m not sure if we can really rule that out.

From the test I just conducted, I couldn’t log in. Just that 1 window last night I guess I was able to.

Having the same issue now today… Not sure how long it’s been going on, but I noticed when setting up a couple of new laptops (one MB Air, one frame.work on W11). I can’t sign into the desktop app or the web app as they throw the same “Internal Server error. Something went wrong on our end” message. Subscribing here to follow progress…

I also can not sign into my server. I get the “Internal Server error. Something went wrong on our end” message as well. I have the latest server installed on my OS5 WDNAS. My PlexPass login was working fine two days ago when I logged into the server dashboard via Chrome. All help/advice appreciated.

Can everyone try loading https://plex.tv/users/account?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to confirm that’s where the issue is? If you have a Plex token available.

What are we looking for specifically? I put the URL you provided with plex token from session that is working in incognito and it pulls my email, username, title of server, etc.

Well your account has already been “fixed”.

Actually, no. I tried again and same error as yesterday. It seems I was able to login once successfully yesterday night. I gave it a try when I read the thread and saw that it could be a intermittent issue and it failed.

Then it could be specific tokens (or headers). Everytime you login your account gets a new token. Maybe those new tokens have a problem, but existing tokens are fine. That would explain why clients which are already logged in continue to work fine.
