Can't turn off subtitles for file in Plex for firefox or chrome

Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364
Player Version#: 4.95.2

When trying to disable subtitles on a video the option to turn off subtitles doesn’t appear within the player (I can choose between different existing subtitles files, as well as to upload or search). Outside of the player (on the movie’s page), the off option does appear under subtitles, but any attempt to actually turn subtitles off is immediately reverted (shows off briefly, then goes back to the previously selected subtitle).

I’ve confirmed there are no hardcoded subtitles for the file in VLC and that VLC can disable and enable them correctly with the expected behavior.

Server subtitle settings:
Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks: enabled
Prefer audio tracks in: English
Subtitle mode: Shown with foreign audio (manually selected has same behavior)
Prefer subtitles in: English

Player subtitle settings:
color: white
position: bottom
size: small
burn subtitles: automatic

It’s also worth noting that this may not be a player issue. On my Roku, I can select off for subtitles, but if I have burn in subtitles set to always, the server appears to burn them in even when I have them set to off (if I don’t have burn in subtitles set to automatic then I can’t get the subtitles to show up even when selected).
