The univerasal watch list from my Plex Account syncs perfectly between my PC (media server), Samsung Smart Phone and iPad.apps. However, it does not sync to the Plex app on my Smart TV (2018 Samsung QE55Q6FNATXXU). The watch list was empty. Items added to the watchlist on the TV were similarly not replicated into the watch list on the PC/phone/ipad. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
The TV app is logged in to my plex account… I can see my media server ok on the TV app. It’s just that the watch list on the TV app is not aligned to what is showing on my phone, so if I add something to the watchlist on my phone it does not appear in smart TV app.
The latter is not necessarily an indication of the former. The Plex app can also access content on your server if you disabled the requirement to authenticate.
However, the watchlist is stored in your account (and not on your server), so the device needs to be logged in.
Is your user name appearing in the top-left when accessing the left sidebar?
If there is a user name, is it identical to the user name on the other devices?
Quite likely – IF the TV still can communicate with plex.tv at all. Older devices with outdated security certificates can no longer do this. So logging in or fetching any data from your account will always fail: Important information about Plex for smart TVs after September 30, 2021
If your TV is affected, you’ll never be able to use the watchlist on it.
Update - I reset the app on the TV and re-connected it to my account. All seems to be working OK now with watch list items added on TV appearing on the phone and vice-versa. Thanks for your help.
