Hello, I’ve not been able to use PlexAmp from CarPlay since the 15.2 iOS update, on the phone alone it works fine, but CarPlay spins a lot and seems broken in general.
I’m running PlexAmp Version 3.8.2 which was working great up until the iOS update. Today Plexamp actually was playing two songs at the same time, one streaming from the server and the other playing a downloaded track. Where can I send the logs?
Thanks Elan — still loads of troubles with 3.9, but I don’t think Plexamp is the problem.
I’m having problems with Spotify and Bandcamp CarPlay apps as well although Pandora, SiriusXM app and Apple Music seem to be working fine. I checked connectivity and it’s fine — like I said other apps are streaming fine.
I did notice on Reddit that others were complaining that since 15.2 they have to manually start some music apps.
That advice did work for me — I force Plexamp (or Spotify or Bandcamp) to play something by choosing it manually on the phone itself and this clears up the confused starting state of CarPlay’s music player and I can then continue.
I restarted the phone several times and I’m still having the issue. I guess I’ll hope that Apple fixes something in the next iOS.
I’m eager to try 3.9 for real — looks like some nice CarPlay improvements
Looks like the issues might be limited to iPhone 13, which is the model that I own. It’s difficult to make sense of the posts out there, but I will continue to try the manual start of Plexamp and hope that Apple fixes this on the next release.
Actually the problems persisted for me, CarPlay was semi usable across my apps including PlexAmp
Good news today, Apple released 15.2.1 and one main fix was for CarPlay.
It’s all running smooth again today.
I’m now surprised other PlexAmp CarPlay users were not complaining of issues. Seems like it was a widespread problem and not just an iPhone 13 problem.
Anyway, now running happily again and will have some CarPlay requests soon!
