Is there currently any plans to support the Cast connect feature?
In short, this makes your chromecast with google TV check if the app being casted from is available and starts the content within the app.
That is very strange, I don’t get that option at all.

Is there any plans to make this experience more seamless? As in, starting the media in the plex app if available, even if casted ‘incorrectly’?

Either way. AFAIK, the Cast Connect feature allows you to cast directly to the Android TV app so developers don’t need to build their own Chromecast app. Plex has a Chromecast app so there is no need to use the Cast Connect feature. Plex also has it’s own Plex Companion protocol for casting directly to the Plex app.
