Casting broken after setting static IP

Server Version#: Tried latest and latest beta
Player Version#: buh it’s chromecast
I cannot for the life of me get casting to work again, I changed my IP to static IP that has no conflicts and everything else works.
Plex claims remote access works, this seems to work but the chromecast stopped working with plex. Other streaming apps are fine, chromecast is fine.

PS: It’s a chromecast ultra

All I get is a useless error(why does plex not have useful errors when casting, poor software design) that says sorry something went wrong.

It was working fine before. Restarted the chromecast as well etc.

I really regret buying the plex lifetime pass.
Since there’s 0 support and I tried everything I am just gonna give up on this badly written piece of software and go for jellyfin

Creating a Static Lease is a not Static IP per se, it’s a LAN IP reservation. I would suggest you check if the MAC address matches / correlates with your Reserved device LAN IP.

Then reboot your Router, Internet connection box, your Server/ WIndows machine/

My Plex setup works as expected with all my devices LAN IP’s reserved, so check out what i have said and Reboot everything.

I set a static IP not a dhcp reservation. It doesn’t work on non static IP anymore either.

So you asked your ISP for a Static IP, or did you just opt out of CGNAT. The previous you pay a fee.

Static IP internally, we’re not talking about a WAN IP.
