After the latest update I am no longer able to cast to Chromecast devices. Attempting to do so causes the app to crash. Relaunching the app results in another crash. The only way to resolve to clear app data and re-login to the app. After doing so, attempting to cast results in the same behavior. I have tried connecting to multiple different Chromecast devices, all resulting in the same behavior.
Update: Downgrading to 2026.5 resolves the problem and I was able to cast successfully.
Do you still have logs from 2026.7 by any chance? What model phone do you have?
I don’t know if I would be able to get logs. Once I experience the crash, the only way to recover is to clear data from the apps settings page. I am no longer able to launch the app even if I force stop it. If there is another way to capture the logs, I’d be happy to install that version again and grab the logs.
I have a Galaxy S22 (SM-S901U)
I can confirm that the latest version released on 4/15 (2026.7.0(971050126) has resolved the issue. I am now able to cast successfully to all Google screens.
