Casting from Plex to Chromecast

Good morning,
I just ran into an issue when trying to cast from the Plex app on my phone to my Chromecast. Normally, this works fine - we’ve been using Plex and the Chromecast to watch a different show with no problem. But when we start up this show, it starts to load the episode we choose, holds for a second, then jumps to the next one, and just repeats that until it reaches the end of the series.

Does anyone know what’s happening here? I’d very much love to get this particular show working so I can play it for my kids.

Same issue.
It seems to be just tv shows for me, Android and iOS
Chromebook to Chromecast works and playing in browser works.
Might be something to do with the new app updates?

I figured it out with the help of Reddit! Turns out, Chromecast won’t play .mkv files. I converted everything to MP4 and they worked just fine.

It used to, but at least there is a work around

movie mkv files seem to work.
I downgraded the plex app and everything works again, so they broke some thing. Downgrade
