I’m hoping this is a simple one. I’m running Plex on a Synology server, using it to cast media to Chromecast equipped TVs throughout the house. This has been fine for several years but today I’ve noticed that I can’t cast MP4 files. I click ‘watch’ & the phone screen briefly changes to the player control screen as it attempts to buffer before failing back to the movie splash screen on the phone.
MKV files seem unaffected by this issue & the MP4s will play fine through Plex on my phone. I’ve tried on multiple televisions with the same issue. I’ve updated the NAS & the Plex app to the latest versions, (there are no new versions for Plex server or chromecasts) with the same results.
