Yes I did the same. Looks like a new router where I can set it myself but that would be a nightmare as I’ve got so much stuff hanging off the current router.
I’m going to call their tech support tomorrow and see what they have to say.
As far as DNS rebinding protection, are you able to configure the settings for the DHCP for the LAN side? If you can change the DNS settings and let your computers and devices renew their leases they will hopefully bypass the router for DNS entirely.
It would probably be found in the Home Network tab in the screenshot above. My guess is the defaults just have the router IP as the DNS server. You’d want to change that to Google, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
Very grateful for you reply. This tab just shows the home network and what’s connected to the LAN. The settings you mention are fixed in this modem. This is the reason why a new router would be the way forward but I cannot face the nightmare of setting up a new home network I will private message you a screen shot of the home network,
I’ve solved my casting issue. It turns out the way Sonos was connected to network was the issue. I was using Sonosnet and had one speaker connect directly hardwired to the Ethernet. I changed this to use WiFi and disconnected the speaker. Hey presto directplay via casting from Plex works perfectly! Thanks for everyone’s input.
Sorry thought problem was solved. Worked fine until I tried Plex mood radio and losing connection again on random tracks. Very disappointed as I thought I solved it! Seems more stable now but still losing connection so not sure what I can do now…
3 updates ago or so i believe, was when most of us realized that the cast to function was broken, then they fixed it after a few days, i haven’t noticed anything wonky with it since then, and mine is also updated to the latest version right now.
Yes something definitely been ‘fixed’ as I’m casting to Sonos but It’s still skipping tracks randomly. Especially if I am listenIng to the Mood Radio or playlists it really struggles and skips even worse.
