Problem with casting to sonos

Hi,

I have plex pass and tried to cast to sonos from the plex app. It connects and plays to my sonos but then it loses connection and when I skip a song it says something like “an error occured, please try again later”

Its the same problem from my smartphone and my tablet.

Does anybody have an idea?

Today I updated to newest version 1.18.0.1944 of Plex Server on Synology but still the same problems.

When I start a song and cast it to a sonos speaker, the song starts to play but i cannot control it anymore. Skip to next song and volume adjustment dont work and i cannot stop.

I am experiencing this issue as well on smartphone running Android.

I am having the same problem. I can play one track from Plex to a Sonos speaker but I can neither jump back or forth to another track nor can I stop it playing. I have to go to the Sonos app to control it. I also cannot play a queued song in Plex to a Sonos device. I’m unsure if the problem is a result of upgrading my music library as Plex asked me to do or as a result of updating PMS to the latest version 1.18.0.1913

Does nobody have a solution for this problem?

It’s strange because Plex advertises Sonos cast as a premium plex pass feature and it’s not working. For me, it was the only reason to get Plex Pass.

I’m new to using Sonos. Got rid of all my Chromcast Audios. Sonos much more stable, flexible and robust. I have the same issue. Can initiate one track and then the music stalls. Pause doesn’t work and other controls do no not work.

A courtesy response from a Plex representative would be appreciated. Sonos casting is a major feature.

After a server update today I can connect to sonos, play a song, select other songs directly, stop and resume a song and disconnect again from sonos player.

Go to previous song / next song still doesnt work from my Android Phone.

When I try to play tidal to my sonos player it says “Error while trying to play this Video”

So it is a bit better but still very buggy.

Which server version are you on klaunzi? I have 1913 but I tried 1973 and it still gave me the same problem.

Not working for me. 1973.

I am now in version 2019 on Synology!

update to 2029 still no improvements

When I cast with my Ipad IOS app I have the same problem but When I cast with Google Chrome there is no problem.

New android app version 7.24.3.13840 shows no improvements, all problems with sonos cast stay the same

Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with the app (and replying to this this late). In order to investigate this, is there any chance you could provide app logs? To do that from the Android client, you can follow https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/

any update on this. Its been driving me crazy for months! For some reason when the support first came out it worked much better. Now I have to try 10 to 15 times before it will let me play the tracks from Plex in the Sonos app. I’m not sure why we can’t get a clear answer with all the threads on this issue…
