I have plex installed on a mac, a linux and android.
I have a set of sono s speakers.
I linked the plex account to Sonos, I can see it and I can play music and podcasts from plex using the sonos app on the mac and android.
Casting on sonos from plex does not work.
The casting look to be connected, but playback does not start.
I can even see from the sonos app that plex is connected and the track that should be playing, but play stay frozen.
Sometimes I got a pop up “unable to playback” but not consistently.
Any advice is welcome

I had this issue, alongside a more general connectivity issue between Sonos and Plex, that plagued me for weeks: I would get errors when browsing and playing certain Plex content via the Sonos app, and similarly could not cast from the Plex web app to Sonos. I was convinced it was a Plex issue, but ultimately it turned out to be an incorrectly set up port-forwarding rule on my router. I fixed that, and assigned a permanent IP address to the server housing my Plex setup, and the issue is now resolved. Not sure if this will help in your situation, but hope you find some resolution…
I verified the remote connectivity and it’s ok, I can reach my server from plex.tv and play from there, I got port forwarding, so the issue is not there… by the way for me sonos casting NEVER worked as I just got the plex pass so started to try to use it now, and it is the main reason to have the pass, considering also they stop do do podcasts (that have been always working ok from sonos), maybe getting the pass was not a good idea…
I seemed to have resolved my issue by restarting my sonos devices. They are now showing up in the cast menu. Maybe that might work for you?
