CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from - sslv3 alert certificate expired

Home Theater Version#:1.8.0.1500

Logbook is filled with

CERT: incomplete TLS handshake from [<hidden-local-ip] sslv3 alert certificate expired (SSL routines)

The problem is that OpenPTH on my NAS is not able to connect to Plex Server on the same NAS within the local network or on it’s localhost.

I tried adding local IP’s to the allowedNetorks in Settings → Network

How can I solve the issue with the SSL certificate?

Are you aware PMS has upgraded to openSSL v3.0.0 because openSSL v1.1.1 expired in Sept 2023 ?

Hi @ChuckPa

I’m not sure how to configure all this with modified SSL scripts.
I can login onto my NAS and find the root directories of both PMS as PHT/PMP
From there on out I’m not sure about where to run the command, and where to store the certificates.

I could use a few more pointers on how to get it done.

I don’t think it will have anything to do with other certificates? My aim is to only use plex within my local setup on the NAS itself.

Thank you for responding before. any help is appreciated.

Let’s backup to a few things.

  1. Are you using your own certificate with PMS ?

  2. Are you using PHT and PMP players ?

I’m not using any of my own certificates right now. I have just installed PMS and PHT/PMP recently. The only thing I have configured is the directories for my media

PHT and PMP are too old.

They are no longer maintained. At some point, there were destined to stop working.

PHT was released to public several years ago.
It was maintained by a third party until about 2 years ago

yeah, it’s with all these media players that they don’t that long. most of them don’t even reach the 10 years lifespan. I used to be very happy with my boxee box, but that also didn’t last.

anyways, thanks for helping out
