soooo … i’ve seen a few other posts that i am following but dont’ directly answer my issue
specifically i will have my recording schedules set up appropriately this only seems to happen with dateline - 20/20 - 48 hours and their varients -
i hav4 it set to record all new and repeat episodes
resolution is set to prefer hd
allow partial airings is checked
detect commercials and mark for skip is chosen
i have it set to keep all episodes
and never delete
what will happen is the show will come on - plex will start recording it - it will end - show as successfully recorded - it exists in .grab while recording
and here is where i haven’t been able to ‘catch’ it - but it either deletes it straight from the .grab or movies it to my library and then deletes it.
in the logs i found this
generator [SHOW] has an empty version set query, assuming generator is no longer valid
now … i had set it to automatically optimize all the recordings and i am wondering if that is somehow related - so i nuked all optimization settings for these recordings and it still happens - its not the stream its self - it seems tied to these specific shows
any oneliners to grep the logs would be helpful to narrow down my search
I too am having this issue on two shows. Everything else is recording and saving fine but Tucker Carlson and Gutfeld are saying “recorded successfully” but not saving to the storage drive.
I am having a very similar problem with 26.0.5715. I thought it might be resolved because an ad hoc recording worked fine, but it is still failing on my scheduled shows. In fact, I just got back from being out of town and the problem remains. I turned on debug level logging before I left and am looking at logs now. I don’t see an obvious problem in the log, but the final file doesn’t show up in the library. I am using commercial removal. Happening on 60 Minutes for sure and maybe still on The Late Show (not sure because set to record new shows and they are repeats this week). more information — updated tot he latest beta build last night - i killed off my optimizations and scrubbing through the various logs i no longer see the generator error so i’m assuming that was tied to the optimizations i cancelled out - screen capped the logs around the recording
last night dateline recorded just fine but all the 48 hours on id recorded - but were deleted from the library mid comskip
It could be the bug that we just fixed for deletion policy for recordings
Suggest you update to the new beta that was released today - 1.26.1.5798
As there were also other date related fixes, it is advisable to run a manual DVR EPG Refresh after upgrading to this version
