Certain video preview thumbnails not working on FireTV

Server Version#: Version 4.59.2 on Ubuntu 20.04
Player Version#: 8.21.2.27212 on Firestick 4k

It looks like video preview thumbnails have stopped working, but only when watching 480p content (at least in what testing I’ve done). Video preview files exist for all of my content, and work 100% on iOS and the Windows Player.

They same content also previously worked on the Firesticks as well. Now, when I try to play 480p content, they don’t work. 1080p content, they work though. It’s my understanding that the preview thumbnails are all the same ‘definition’ regardless of the quality of the video file - that is why when you look at the file info in Plex it says the same thing for everything:

Indexes: sd

So not sure what is going on here. Tried it on a 1080p and 4k TV to see if that was the difference, but the problem is the same across both.

Could it be the aspect ratio of the preview thumbnails? All my 480p content is 4:3.

I have a similar issue.
I can’t see preview thumbnails on my Nvidia Shield for all my TV Shows anymore.
I don’t have this problem with movies, only with my TV Show libraries.
With IOS or Web the thumbnails are displayed normally.

Just found some 1080p content where this is happening as well, and in a widescreen aspect ratio, so any commonality I saw in working versus not (other than it only happening on the FireTV’s) is out the window.

Now no video preview thumbnails are working on FireTV. They all work for the same media on other devices, just not on any of my FireTV’s.

Looks like my FireTV’s updated to version 8.22.0.27533 and they are currently working, at least on the couple of files I have tried.
