No video preview thumbnails on FireTV 4K?

I’m not seeing any video preview thumbnails when using my FireTV 4K, if I play the same media using the Plex app on my LG TV they are there.

Anyone else with same issue?

I am getting thumbnails generated for recorded TV, the Web player and LG App has no issue showing them.

Problem is the FireTV 4K does not show them, hence my query if anyone else with FireTV see’s this issue.

I don’t believe the Fire TV supports that feature. I was never able to get anything more than chapter thumbnails to show up

Well I shouldn’t say that. Fire TV does support this feature because you can use it in other apps. The Plex app on Fire TV doesn’t support this feature, might be more accurate

The Plex support article says “These images are used by SOME Plex apps when you move back and forward in the app”. But it doesn’t tell you what apps those actually are

I’ve asked multiple times and no one seems to have an answer

It is possible this is just a long running bug. I’m seeing a lot of other posts lately with people complaining that this isn’t working on other android tv devices too.

I guess just because it never worked for me doesn’t mean it’s not supposed to

That thread seems to be geared towards problems with just tv libraries. Do you have any movies you can try on the Fire TV to see if that works?
