Change folder name without rescan intro

Server Version#:1.40.0.7998
Server OS#: Windows 10

Hi,

I would like to rename my “TV Shows” folder to “TV”, because it sometimes causes me small problems in the sharing configurations, etc. I tested this procedure to avoid breaking my library, and it works well, except for one detail, the intros/credits https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154537-move-media-content-to-a-new-location/.

Although progressions, posters and assignments remain unchanged, intro and credit detection starts again from sratch for all episodes of each series.

Is there a way to avoid this?

I tried this [HowTo] Plex database modification - Moving media the right/wrong way - #10 by jelwell

I don’t know if it’s me or the new version 1.40 of Plex server, but when I restart the server, I receive a Database corrupted message.

When I make some SELECT from the 4 tables indicated in the guide:

FROM section_locations - root_path is there

FROM metadata_items - guid is like plex://episode/5de83d9d815840001fa1cb47 and not like “file:///”

FROM media_stream - url column is empty

FROM media_parts - file path is there

When I made the test, I just changed the section_locations and the media_parts. After that, the database corrupted error appear.

So I think that something else have change in the database. Or I’m noob…

It’s possible to help me with this please?

Or explain a another way to process.

Thank you and have a good day!

Add the second folder TV to your library (when it’s empty).

Disable auto trash removal.

Drag the folders from TV Shows in your new empty TV folder.

Plex will rescan without deleting things in the middle of the process.
