I would like to change the login process for my Plex account. So far I have logged in with Apple, in future I would like to do this with a conventional combination of e-mail address and password.
Is this possible without much effort, or is there anything I need to bear in mind so that the link to my Plex Pass is not lost?

Looking at your account it shows you added a regular password about 6 months after creating the account. You should be able to use the regular forgot password link on sign in page to reset it.
Your account would be using an Apple Relay email and you need to make sure apple can redirect to whatever your real email is so you get the reset email.
Yes, I still have an old combination of email address and password and can log in with it, but I haven’t used it since Plex was hacked.
I have now tried to log in with it - but my Plex Pass is not linked to this account – I only have the Plex Pass when I log in with Apple.
I’m really at a loss and don’t know what to do next.
Then that is a completely separate account than the one you are using here on this forum. The one you are using on this forum already has a password but has the generic apple relay email. I don’t know how Apple handles redirecting/forwarding stuff to your real email on your Apple ID.

You’ve pointed me in the right direction, thank you very much: I didn’t log in with Apple, but with email/password. I entered the Apple Relay mail address and then clicked on "Forgot password? The email to reset the password was then forwarded to the email address linked to my AppleID. The rest was then quite simple…
