Change Sync Transcode Location

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2031
Player Version#: Any / Not Relevant

HI, This has been raised several times I think but posts are now probably buried too deep. Since some months ago the sync feature received some updates I think it makes sense to bring this question back:

Since more than a year ago users of NVIDIA SHIELD TV as Server have the possibility of changing the metadata location to External storage. We can also set up the Transcode Temp folder to a External SD card. However, the temporary Sync folder for transcodes is still in the device internal memory. The Shield only has 16 GB of internal storage (and unfortunately the 2019 revision didn’t improve on this) so any attempt to use Sync except for small TV shows, fails. This basically makes the sync feature unusable when using the NVIDIA SHIELD as a server. We really need a way to move this Sync temporary files to External Storage , the same way metadata and Transcodes. Is this even possible please?

Also, selecting quality as ‘Original’ doesn’t help, I would assume that with this option I should be getting the original file without any kind of transcoding into my mobile device but alas, it might be trying to store something in the Shield’s internal storage because it’s also not working.

thanks.
