Changed Plex Password Can't Find Server

I changed my plex password last night after I noticed someone had watched a movie under my username. I then signed every device out of my account without thinking it would remove my server from that list. Now plex can’t find my Synology DS 918+. I have tried to delete the registry “PlexOnlineToken” “PlexOnlineUsername” and such from the NAS. It doesn’t appear to work as anytime I access Plex from the plex media server installed on my DS918+ it just tells me to “get plex media server” again. It appears to be an endless loop. I’ve been trying to solve this since last night with no luck. My DS918+ is not listed under authorized devices on plex either so Idk how to get it back?? Can someone please take the time to help me because I am completely lost! I’ll be forever grateful if anyone can help me solve this!

When you change your password it logs you out and your server becomes unclaimed. You need to re-claim it.

Using a private/incognito browser window, go to http://nas_ip_address:32400/web (use the real IP address of your NAS).

where do I go to claim it? I opened an incognito browser on chrome, went to the link using my server ip, signed in to plex and it’s just the same home page. “Your home screen is empty” and then it has “+Your Media” on the left column and if I click that it says “get plex media server”. If I go to settings there’s nothing in there that says to claim my server

You should be able to go into server settings and claim the server.

Preferences.xml will be in the /volume1/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/.

Method: Last ditch effort

  1. Stop Plex
  2. File Station
  3. Navigate Library / Application Support / Plex Media Server
  4. Rename Preferences.xml → Preferences.xml.old
  5. Start PMS
  6. Open http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web?secure=0
  7. Begin normal setup EXCEPT do not create new library sections. SKIP this.
  8. Proceed normally through to the dashboard.

OMG IT WORKED!!! You’re a freaking genius!! Thank you soooo much! Seriously you have no idea how grateful I am! I had been going around and around in circles since last night trying to fix this with no solution. I even woke up early to get this running with no luck until now! Seriously thank you so much!
