HELP: Not able to access my server after password change

Server Version#: 1.28.1.6104
Player Version#: 4.89.1

Hey,
So based off the email we’ve all received on the data breach, I changed my password and added 2 step verification. I’ve logged into Plex on my browser, but it’s saying my server is unreachable? I’ve logged into my Synology DSM and the app is running. Not sure what else to do.

Can someone please help?

Hi, I did the following:

  1. Stopped the service for Plex
  2. Changed the Preferences.xml (Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support)
  3. Start service for Plex
4: Access the local webpage via: 192.168.x.y.:32400/web (use your local ip where Plex can be reached with)
5 Reclaim the plexserver with your Plex credentials

Hey @Yumachi
Thanks for the info, but I can’t access the link on the second step. Also how do I find my local webpage for Plex?

FYI, 32400, not 32499.

Ok, I’ve manage to access my server again via Plex, but it’s not secure. Normally there’s a padlock at the top by the URL.

Im in the same situation and have a QNAP NaS, cant access after password reset.

Usually when I get issues with server I just update firmware but thats not working.

I checked the link above but as I have a QNAP wasnt sure what option to try.

This is not good PLEX!!!

Changing your password placed the Plex server in an unclaimed state. You need to re-claim it.

Note that Plex systems are under a major load right now, so you may need to wait a few hours for things to stabilize.

To reclaim your server:

  1. Check your list of Authorized Devices. If the server is listed, delete it.

  2. Point a incognito browser window at the IP address of the NAS: http://syno_ip_address:32400/web (ex: http://192.168.1.2:32400/web).

You should then be able to login to the NAS and claim it.

If you receive timeout or similar error messages, wait and try later, after the load has stabilized on Plex’s systems.

If things still do not work, then try the procedure in the “Why am I locked out…” document linked by @Yumachi. It also places your server in an unclaimed state.

Claiming a server requires communications with systems at plex.tv. If those systems are not stable, you will have trouble claiming your server.

Ok, I seem to be alright now. I went on the Plex site and accessed my account that way and I’ve got the secure URL and I’m able to see my media. Glad it’s not just me who had this issue. Hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Thanks for the help.

Correct - Sorry for the Typo

Deleting the old server from the authorized devices did the trick for me. Now all my Plex devices work again.

Thanks!

Looking for some help here… I’m running Plex on a FreeNAS and after the password change, my server is no longer populating in my Plex app, it is not in my Authorized Devices, and there is no notice of an unclaimed server. Any help is appreciated!
