Changing font size for SSA/ASS on Android TV

Server Version#: 4.76.1 (Windows 10)
Player Version#: latest available for Google TV

I just would like to let you know that changing subtitles size in case of SSA/ASS subtitles included in .mkv file works only if it’ll be changed in app settings itself, and fully restarting streaming. Changing it during streaming in ‘Playback settings’ simple doesn’t change anything.

Here are some stream details:

Transcoding because of “image” type fonts, I guess.

After changing Plex app burn-in subtitles settings from ‘Auto’ to ‘Image type only’ resizing subtitles during playback works fine, but of course subtitles doesn’t look fine in this mode, the biggest problem is with subtitles that overlaps each other (they should be displayed at the same time, but newer lines always replaces previous ones completely). This explains enabled burn-in also for SSA files by default I guess, that’s OK.
I think resizing subtitles in ‘burn’ mode should simply restart transcode/streaming (with new settings passed to the server), that should do the trick. It’ll be better than forcing user to go to the global settings and restart playback/app manually

SSA/ASS support on Android Tv is currently very limited. We are working on an update if you want to give it a shot. Nvidia SHIELD/Android app SSA/ASS format anime subtitles + transcoding problems - #176 by sixones
