Changing Plex account password on Qnap

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2645
Player Version#:Various
Qnap TS-453Be Firmware 4.3.6.1070

This is about changing the account password. I have read several forum posts of people who have changed their password only to have A LOT of problems, loosing the server, data, account log in etc. I should also add most have been with Synology NAS’s from what I have read.

I have read the support page and it seems very straight forward so I am asking on the boards. What should I know aside from the support page and how do I avoid have any such issues when I change my account password?

Sign out of the local Plex/Web first.

When you change the password at Plex.tv, make certain to Sign Out all devices (checkbox)

This will sign out your server as well.

When you open it again, open it by LAN IP in an incognito window.

If it all works correctly, it will want to “Claim” (sign in) again.

Thank you, I will follow your guidance.

Sign out of the local Plex/Web first. (do you mean shutdown the server on the local host? I am a bit confused how I sign out then change the password in the step below?)

When you have the Plex/web dashboard open in your browser,

Upper right corner

Click your avatar -> Sign Out

This signs you out of Plex/web.
It does not impact the server. It is its own entity

Thank you for the clarification
