Server Version#: v 1.29.0
Player Version#: Version 4.92.0
Hey ever since the hack of 2022, I had to change password of course. But now when I log in (v4.92.0) at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/… libraries disappear. I keep losing my libraries from my QNAP NAS. I have to go into qnap and stop and re start plex from qnap plex app PMS(v 1.29.0) and then it will show back up. Any ideas it’s getting quite annoying.
Thanks
What do you mean by “losing your libraries”?
Are they just gone from the main navigation but still accessible in the More section?
Are they actually gone?
Is the media in those libraries gone?
…
Hey thanks for replying, I should have clarified a little.
They disappear from the left menu. If you click on the more section says something like " get plex media server" as if plex never had any libraries. The Plex stuff that’s "on Plex " is there.
They are not actually gone from my NAS just from app.plex.tv/desktop. If I go through 192.168.x.xxx:32400/web everything is fine.
I have to restart the PMS on QNAP then it will show backup in the app.plex.
I could have sworn there was a long live token I used prior to the Plex breach not the one from the XML method bc it seems to lose it every 24-48 hrs.
not sure what you mean by that. I can access the nas via plex, so yes. When I loose connection as stated before my nas doesn’t show up and have to reboot PMS via qnap. If there’s a setting section you can point me to might help. The attachment is from Authorized Devices
So it should be, when I “loose” the libraries I have no access and not sure if I can get into Auth devices. Hope that helps lol
What information is showing when you open http:://[local IP address of your QNAP]:32400/identity – this should show some XML content; I’m particularly interested in the attribute claimed="..." and its value (0=server isn’t linked to your account; 1=server is linked to an account).
with /identity
<MediaContainer size=“0” claimed=“1” machineIdentifier=“1b7aa94aec060572405fe7a9bced7a7xxxxx” (I “x” out, wasn’t sure if sensitive info) version=“1.29.0.6244-819d3678c”>
Looks ok as for the server.
Do you experience the same issue when using some other players?
Do you have any browser settings / add-ons / plug-ins that might mess with the session cookies of the web app (e.g. causing Plex to consider you to be signed out in that web app instance)?
no issues elsewhere. No other settings have been changed or plugins. I don’t think I’ve added or changed anything this year really, besides Prusa slicer program. I have a nvidia graphics card update that I forgot website password for lol . Never had a problem until having to reset password this year.
I have claimed it and it keeps disappearing. For the life of me I don’t know. Since ur a Plex Employee, wasn’t there long lived 10yr tokens a few years ago? That’s the only thing I can think of. All was fine until PMS hacked =>password change => Home Assistant pw change. Pretty sure that’s all that has been done, has work fine for 3-5 years (HA and PMS)
then click on “proceed to”

That’s what happens above when I use /identity
I use Vivalidi for the “https://app.plex.tv/desktop”, have for years. IP address works as well in browser BUT says credentials are expired and have to re-claim
I go back and do the identify and get this
For checking the status, you needs to use the local IP address of your QNAP
Do revisit what I linked towards, and follow the instructions there, and not what you normally use
I’ve done that after Plex password change. Both IP’s are showing claimed. These two IP’s don’t loose PMS.
When I use app.plex.tv ( what I normally use) that is what is expiring (for a lack of better words) not the /web. With app.plex.tv is the only way casting works correct? otherwise IP’s aren’t showing my casting ability.
I can hook two ethernet cords to the back of NAS to router so ip 192.168.x.xx2 and 192.168.x.xx3. I can access PMS through both of them, always have been able too.
