Currently host my Plex Server on Nvidia Shield. My database got accidentally uninstalled and now I’m trying to restore. I was able to find the database backup files - but the instructions I found said they need to go into:
android → data → com.plexapp.mediaserver.smb → Plex Media Server → P
The problem is while I found the com.plexapp.mediaserver.smb where it should be - I can’t access anything behind that part. From my understanding I believe I don’t have access to the database director. I’ve attempted to change the storage location from Internal (System) to Internal (User) and currently it says that is what it is set to. So I should have access to the folder but unfortunately I dont.
Looking for any suggestions/idea for how to access this folder so I can swap in my database files and get my server back up and running.
Hi. The hotfix didnt solve it, Nvidia claims android 11 is working as designed, so, 2 options? Or the impossibility to change PMS db to external storage gets fixed, or PMS app in shield gets by default a diferent path?
So as I understand it, the PMD db doesn’t allow you to use an external option, like my NAS drive anymore? So with the only two options left Internal (system) and internal (user) I need internal (user) to work so I can restore my DB but with the latest Android Nvidia update, the file structure remains locked.
Is there a way to back down to an older version of Android?
From what I saw, you must be an expert in android to perform a rollback, otherwise you may get a brick.
Or nvdia solves the plex issue, or plex updates and solves…someone? I’ve got the nvidia only for plex server and player use.
