I have just scanned my channels, since moving a couple miles and the new re-pack, and noticed that I have signals that I can tune with other devices, such as streaming to VLC, but within Plex, these sub-channels cannot be mapped. Granted, most of these channels I have no interest in, but I’d like to be complete.

The first is broadcasted by KBTV-CD on RF Channel 27… Virtual Channel 8.7. This is a QVC channel… who watches this!!!

The second is broadcasted on KMUM on RF Channel 31… Virtual Channel 33.5. This is NBC-LocalX. Granted, this channel is only broadcasting a screen saying that it is coming soon and not actual content at this time.

The next channel is on KTXL. KTXL is our local Fox affiliate that just moved its RF channel down to 22. They have a new channel called “TBD TV” on 40.4. I haven’t seen anything I care to watch on that channel yet…

Fourth comes a channel on KAHC-LD, RF channel 45, Virtual Channel 43.7. I’m not really caring to watch yet another channel dedicated to infomercials, but that is apparently what 43.7 is but unable to select it in Plex.

The fifth and final channel that I can receive but Plex can’t figure out what to do with is broadcasted by KSTV-LD on RF Channel 32. This one is also a bit of an enigma because the exact same channel is being broadcasted by KSAO-LD on RF Channel 14. The channel is “ThisTV”. On KSAO-LD, it is 49.2. On KSTV-LD, it is 49.4. Within Plex, I can assign 49.2 to ThisTV but not 49.4. I’m not sure why ThisTV is on two different low-power broadcaster’s transmissions. To make matters even more odd, I looked up both stations and saw that they are listed as having different owners, BUT… they are broadcasted off the same tower. My initial thought is one may be due to serving slightly different areas but when they are both UHF and both from the same tower, that doesn’t make any sense to me.

I just realized I skipped another (meaningless to me) channel not listed… The Jewelry Channel on KSTV-LD’s 32.2.

I have this same issue as well. There are two nbc stations in town, and plex seems to pick the one that is closer, but there’s no line of site. I’d like to pick the one that is farther but has better line of site, but I don’t see it in the channel mapping. I do see it in the hd home run tuner, so is this possible?

I live in Roseville, CA… in the “Greater Sacramento” metropolitan area and some of the channels I COULD chose, if I were able to pick up a signal are from either the San Francisco market or the Chico/Redding market, yet some of the more local sub-channels are NOT available. When I originally posted this message, there was one particular television station that was only airing a “Coming Soon” image but now has programming being aired, yet it is still not able to be tuned by Plex. I can easily tune the station with great picture quality using VLC to stream the network feed on my HD HomeRun tuner.
