Trying to improve dad’s tv experience at his senior living apartment.
The problem is the in-house cable system has a listing from OTA but mapped on the SENTRICS cable system / server. Channels 4 - 39 are over the air antenna but they are not on the same channel as OTA therefore Plex cannot match them. As an example, I see 1008.4 on the TV this may be OTA channel 12. Plex does not find this to match. Oddly some channels do allow me to match them, but not all of the channel’s dad wants like ABC, NBC and CBS.
Adding to the frustration the TV may see this as some strange channel number but decodes it properly as WFLA, and displays to channel just fine, Plex cannot.
I have found many dead-end threads; one would think this is a common problem and easy to fix. Perhaps my post will yield results.
I have tried:
- Area code - added an EPG source
- Added a second area code and added a second EPG source
- Using a combo, I can come up with some of the channels, but not what is available
What I want is - find this RF signal, display some data about it - and allow me to choose it from the OTA list in this case. Since the channel does not show in the scan list I cannot match it. The TV can!
How update Plex to find all the channels and then allow proper mapping?
Thanks
