Chapter Titles Replace Track Title in Playback Overlay

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): ATV3, 5.3

  • Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file (in order to get the necessary information on a particular media file go into the Plex web interface, select the video file, when it brings up the page for the media file click on the "i" information button on the left hand side, it will then bring up a "media info" box, click on the "View XML" button, it will then open a browser window with the relevant information, copy this to http://www.pastebin.com and use the pastebin link to post the details; posting the information directly in the forum may mess up the formatting and generally takes up a lot of space): http://pastebin.com/yRs5gANG

This is really a minor cosmetic issue, but I noticed something when playing an iTunes friendly .m4v file that contains chapter markers, During normal ATV playback, you can hit Direction Up twice to see an overlay of the track artwork, description and track title. If the file being played back contains chapter markers, the track title in this overlay is replaced by the currently playing chapter title. If chapter markers are removed from the same file, the overlay displays the correct track title.

Since this is an iTunes friendly .m4v, I tried playing it back on the ATV using iTunes Homesharing, and the Title in the overlay displays the track title correctly, even if chapter markers are present.

Yep, this is an issue with the how the trailer app video player works, I discovered this very early on in PlexConnects development, unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.
