Issue with marking viewed files

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software):

    • ATV 2, FW 5.3

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS):

    • 192.168.0.7

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on:

    • Mac Mini, Mac OS X 10.8.5

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on:

    • 192.168.0.7

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:

    • Mac Mini, Mac OS X 10.8.5

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'):

    • 0.9.8.10.215-020456b

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:

    • 192.168.0.7

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one.

  • Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file

    • not related to specific media file

  • A detailed description of the issue

    • After watching a TV show, when show is viewed, the "viewed" information is not updated, either on the aTV nor in PMS.

    • Plex seems to not remember where a show is stopped when restarting to play (always restarting from start)

    • was working perfecly with version from September 6, 2013

  • 'PlexConnect.log'

    • see attached zip (was not able to post it through pastebin, too big)

I found this when updating sometimes, try rebooting the ATV and then watching a test episode.

Edit : just tested, works far better after aTV reboot

Finally, this does not work that good…


Two days ago, after rebooting aTV it was ok, but yesterday evening, the problem re-appeared :

  • impossible to stop a video and restart from the same point -> systematically starting from start
  • impossible to have the “viewed” information updated after viewing a show


    New one :
  • impossible to choose a subtitle on one show (will chech this out this evening)


    Finally, I’ll go back to my previous version.
