Chrome full-screen problem

Hi all,

With the new update 2.4.5 and chrome now you can direct stream mp4 + subtitles !! amazing job !!!

But i have a problem i cant get the videos full screen with chrome.

I uninstall chrome and reinstall it but the fullscreen button doesnt work.

Any idea ?

Thanks

I tested it here and didn't have any issues. Is it completely unresponsive when you click the fullscreen button? Do you have any extensions installed?

Hi eric,

Yes its completely unresponsive. no extension nothing.

I even full uninstall complete the chrome and reinstall it from chrome site.

By the way i am using windows 7 64bit

Thanks

Just installed first time chrome in another computer with windows 8.

Same problem.

Thanks

I gave it a try on a fresh Chrome install in Windows 8 and didn't experience the issue. If you open up the web inspector (ctrl + alt + i), do you see any errors in the console when trying to go fullscreen? Are you using the Flash player or HTML player (check if experimental is checked in Settings > Web > Player)?

eric i think i have found the problem.

Because my plex server is on a dedicate machine i had created a sub domain so it can redirect to the plex web. when i use the subdomain to connect to web the button it isnt working but when i user the ip:32400 is working.

any idea ?

Maybe you denied fullscreen for that domain? That doesn't really explain the fresh install on a different computer though.

When i connect with chrome to plex web like http://plex.my-domainthe full screen button isnt working. When i connect like http://ip:32400 the button is working.

In firefox the full screen button is working in both ways

Ok my plex server is on a dedicate server. I have a domain name. So i have created a subdomain in the domain and add forward to the pms server.

My pms server is example  1.1.1.1/32400/web/inedx.html

Domain name example  test.com

Subdomain plex.test.com that forward to pms server

If i open chrome and write plex.test.com it forward you to pms login. Everything is working perfect except fullscreen button.

Altough in firefox the full screen button is working.

Eric i am attaching from web inspector all the information.

At the end when i press full screen it doesnt record anything.

Does it happen in an incognito window as well?

yes it doesnt work either in incognito window in chrome

Dear all and Plex

I have the exact same problem.

Is there any news/fix/workaround since last post

Best regards

Hi

I also have this issue however it seems to work intermittently i have been unable to determine why
it is annoying and I really hate having to use explorer which does work

Martyn

I’d like to say that I have the exact same problem, Stealth Domain Redirect from Plex.mydomain.com to my.plex.ip:32400, and the full screen “arrows” in the top right corner are completely dead, both on Win10 Chrome and Mobile Chrome. Accessing the IP:32400 makes it work, but it’s just a pain! PLEASE FIX IT!!!

Same issue here. Works when directing calls to IP:PORT but not going to domain/sub-domain. This is pretty irritating as almost all of my users including myself use my sub-domain.

When I turn off my DNS URL redirect mask/cloaking (hides the redirect and only shows the “user” the entered URL) the full-screen works. So the issue is present for me ONLY when using my Plex sub-domain without a visible redirect to the IP:PORT.

plex.domain.com —>> Hidden Redirect to IP:PORT —>>> Does not work
plex.domain.com —>> Visible Redirect to IP:PORT ---->>> WORKS
Direct connection to IP:PORT —>>> WORKS

PMS Version: 1.12.3.4973
Plex Web Client Version: 3.41.2
Chrome Version: 66.0.3359.139 (64bit)

Any input from any Plex Devs would be amazing. It seems like this is an issue for a large base of users and a possible bug.

Did you get a response? I’m experiencing the same issue and have confirmed the difference is related to my method of connection (redirect vs IP/port). I am running the latest beta release as of 11/22/2018.

PMS Version 1.14.0.5468
Web Client Version 3.69.1
Firefox 63.0.3 (32bit)

Nope, never did get any responses on this issue. It still persists but fortunately nobody has really complained about it. So it has pretty much just been pushed to the back burner as an issue “that might get fixed later”. Currently running a newer version of PMS as well. If I am forced to use the web client I usually just press F11 to force Chrome to go full screen. That seems to work well.
