Plexamp can Chromecast to an Nvidia Shield correctly, but when I Chromecast to a Wiim Ultra, the playback gets stuck (plays the same 1 second).
I can also successfully Chromecast from YT Music to the Wiim Ultra, and that playback works fine, so the problem lies between the combination of Plex/Plexamp/Wiim Ultra.
Is this a known issue? Research on this indicates that the Chromecast SDK has recently updated and is now called “Google Cast” rather than Chromecast, and that standard is referred to as " GC4A 2.0" and the Wiim Ultra uses that, but Plex (and other applications) is trying to do things “the old way” with libraries that will no longer work properly.
I also found this statement in the thread:
“This is the precise reason why Roon is problematic over GC4A 2.0. It goes against the guideline and uses much more buffer than that in order to achieve better audio casting quality. The more buffer you have, the less you are affected by network issues. It’s also why Plex doesn’t work, because plex expects to send the entire song to the buffer at once.”
