Anyone else surprised that another update, and no fix for Chromecast??
- Now itās been an entire year with no resolution for Chromecast. Totally disappointing.
Apparently this is an issue that the developers canāt be bothered to fix
2 updates in a month, and they canāt be bothered to fix a known issue with Chromecast. Pretty disappointing.

You would think that after ALL these updates. Someone from the staff might have at least let the developers know that this issue is still happening. This is why I donāt recommend Plex to anyone
They know it is still happening to some. When it is fixed it will be mentioned in release notes. Iām sorry I cannot provide any ETA

Just commenting to stop this thread closingā¦ canāt believe it has been a known issue for this long!
It does seem to be hard-coded app behaviour by design - not a bug.
The devs really need to put a persistent casting state into the client data to attempt reconnect to the chromecast without initializing it each time the app loadsā¦ like all other streaming client apps do

January 2022 I started bringing this issue up, and STILL absolutely nothing has been done about it.
Really disappointed with the development team
