Sgt_Jan, did you change anything on your end? I’ve been trying to use chromecast every so often since the app update and just get a plex logo on my TV and no media playback. I’m running a pihole but have whitelisted the claspws.tv domain.
Edit: Casting from other apps (youtube etc) to the same TV works fine.
I just tested mine, and it appears to connect again. Seeing the most recent update (via the Play store) is June 6th.

Well, looks like I spoke too soon. Just tested again, and it’s back to not working.
Be nice to have any sort of official response or acknowledgement.
Same issue for me. All other apps cast fine but plex looks like it will start, then just goes back to the large plex logo.
Same issue, only when casting Live TV. Video plays on phone while Chromecast device just displays Plex logo. Older app worked just fine.
