I modified the chromecast profile
today I found the same flashing sub problem and checking che chromecast.xml profile the deleted row was still there…
My question is, when updating plex server the installation refresh all xml profiles?
I don’t have other answer for my problem…

When you modify a profile, you are supposed to copy it into a different folder.
The profiles in the original location are updated/overwritten when you update the server software.
User-modifed profiles are to be put into:
Plex data folder /Profiles
(by default, there is no Profiles subfolder in this location. You need to create it yourself when you do it the first time.)
But doing so does also mean that your old profile will stick around and will probably at some point in the future no longer be working with the then current version of the client.
You’ll have to evaluate from time to time whether your modifications are still needed and whether they are still functional.

How do I check if plex server is using my personalizzed profile?
It should appear in the Plex Media Server.log which profile is used.
(At the time when a playback is started)
